Decorating & Custom Woodwork for Remodeled House

These do-it-yourself homeowners labored for several months renovating their house and expanding the second level into a master suite. After months of living in a construction zone, they were ready to furnish and decorate their "new" house. Bright Ideas designed floor plans, design schemes, and custom woodwork for the living room, dining room, guest room, office/guest room, bathroom, and master bedroom. After selecting paint colors with the homeowners, we devised a paint schedule for their painter to follow.

Because the homeowners had very few furnishings they wanted to keep, we itemized a room-by-room budget to keep the project within the homeowners' overall budget. We incorporated several shopping trips into the project to find the right furnishings and accessories for each room.

Unhappy with the look of their old fireplace, the homeowners requested the design of a modern facade to accommodate a large television. Following our drawings, our carpenter built a new fireplace surround and mantel and tiled over the brick front and hearth. The result is a cleaner, more modern look that provided room for electronics and freed up floor space. In addition, he installed crown moulding in the living and dining rooms. To enhance the dim lighting situation, Chessie Electric installed four recessed can lights.

The homeowners recently put this property on the market with realtor Nancy Hofmann. It sold at full asking price in 10 days!
