Renovating this circa 1860 rowhouse in Baltimore's Little Italy required a complete gutting and innovative space planning. After the kitchen came out, the homeowners sought the advice of Bright Ideas on how to best utilize all 93-square feet.

To accommodate the narrow space, windows, and utilities, the most practical layout proved to be a galley style. Lining the side walls with the cabinets and appliances eliminated the need for bulky corner cabinets that don't offer much storage space. Despite the room's diminutive size, this space plan allowed for full-size appliances, a tall pantry, and a countertop with seating for two.
