Sometimes
the adage, "the shoemaker's children have no shoes", is fitting.
Bright Ideas was bursting out of its space with an overflowing
work table, meager shelving, and zero storage. It was time for
an overhaul!
With the help of Bel Air Kitchens Plus and Yellow Umbrella
Organizing, we designed two built-in cabinet areas, each cabinet
piece chosen to suit an interior designer's storage and daily
work needs. The wood tone and hardware were selected to match
the existing desk and file cabinet. Adding details like crown
moulding and built-out baseboards creates a custom,
furniture-like look to stock cabinetry. A durable laminate
countertop in a neutral finish provides ample work surfaces.
The blue and brown color scheme remained intact since we
had recently painted and installed window treatments.
New carpeting (a remnant provided big savings) in a
tightly-looped neutral tone replaced the contractor-grade
carpeting.
The result is a streamlined space with tons of storage -- and
room to grow! |
